Dr Swati Maheshwari is an internal medicine specialist with more than 18 years of experience in clinical & administrative field,having comprehensive knowledge of both Adult and Child health issues and an innovative thinker with diverse and functional expertise of the healthcare industry with a tenacious commitment to perform and deliver.
Graduating from SN Medical College (BR Amedkar University) Agra,UP(1999) and Post graduation in General medicine from Hindu Rao Hospital ,Delhi (2005) .She is also Diplomate in Child Health from Westmead’s Children Hospital ,Australia. Subsequently she gained experience from reputed medical institutes (National and International ) like Westmead Hospital Sydney, Australia, GB Pant hospital , Delhi and has worked at senior posts in hospitals like Rockland Hospitals, New Delhi, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon ,Urgent Care Centers, Delhi . Later as Program Director promoted to post of President at Smart Living, (Saket City Hospital) New Delhi.
She was Senior Technical committee member of " India Nutrition Program " flagship program of Plan International ,Reckitt Benckiser and Maharashtra Village Social Transformation Foundation ( initiative of Rural Development department ,Government of Maharashtra) The program aimed at Transforming 1000 villages in Maharashtra focusing on child malnutrition and infant mortality.
She has also created several infotainment videos (including scripting and acting) in native language advocating healthy practices during pregnancy, lactation, First 1000 days, Severe Acute Malnutrition for local community and community workers education under India Nutrition Program.
She worked as Project consultant to contribute towards the health awareness program of manual scavengers by creating educational videos (including scripting and acting) and offering her medical services at World Toilet College, Aurangabad in association with Jagran Pehel and World Toilet Organisation.
She worked with Reckitt Benckiser as Project consultant and created various videos (including scripting and acting) for propagating healthy hygienic practices in School going children to be disseminated in over 6 crore children across India in span of 5 years.
She also worked with not for profit organizations like Save A Mother for their capacity building, strategic planning, program monitoring and training field workers at grass root level; Working in 1000 villages in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana focusing on maternal and infant mortality, Population Stabilization, Under 5 mortality, TB control and Adolescent health.
She is panelist at Ministry Of Science & Technology division Vigyan Prasar for various Health Related Programs.
She continues to participates at NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), Ministry of HRD ‘ and Viigyan Prasar, Ministry of Science & Technology for various community outreach live programs based on health and its varied aspects, these programs are viewed live by thousands of students and field workers across India.
She is on a social entrepreneur journey with the aim to contribute towards "Health For All", whereby,she is actively engaged in disseminating knowledge about multiple health and social issues through various audio visual programmes for mass consumption, in simplified & local language, avoiding the medical jargon and complexities. The motto not just encompasses creating awareness for various preventive aspects of health but also to recognise particular groups and geographies having specific needs and addressing barriers. It also helps in meeting health needs and spreads the info about various available and accessible health avenues. Aim is to motivate them to come forward to utilize available medical facilities and to develop awareness as an effective tool to promote behavior practices that are conducive to good health and in turn participate in Nation building exercise. Having covered varied topics from autism, epilepsy, heart attack, asthma, low back pain to quit smoking, organ donation, menstrual hygiene, sanitation of water, pollution, new-born care, antenatal care and much more, has given her much deeper insight and experience of countries' health care needs. Her programmes have been graced by leading health care stakeholders like Hon' Ministers of Government of India, Members of Parliament, sportsmen, film makers, acclaimed writers, medical fraternity, opinion leaders etc.
As an extension to her quest for creating awareness she has done many health centric programmes for various other organizations like AajTak Fittak and News 24. She also features as Medical expert on Tata Sky Beauty Channel which is FTheCouch Production house, Suneil Shetty Venture.
She is regular face in various health programmes and debates on television at various National and regional Channels like REPUBLIC, BBC NEWS, INDIA TODAY, MIRROR, CNBC, ZEE NEWS, ABP NEWS, AAJTAK, NEWS 18, TV 9, NEWS 24, R BHARAT, NEWS NATION, SAHARA SAMAY, INDIA AHEAD and more
She worked with Wockhardt Foundation on Menstrual hygiene and Water sanitation awareness campaign.
She worked with Sundesh- Dabur to raise awareness for varied health issues, early detection and prevention at community level.
She has worked as Project consultant to Henry Ford Organisation, USA & Model Hospitals to build SOPs for a wellness & rehabilitation centre in india and subsequently with Kraeexpert Technologies (Reliance India) to develop EMR for the rehab centre.
Despite her varied roles she did not loose her focus on continuing professional development and continued to attend various courses to meet her developmental needs, both nationally and internationally.
